  1. Bill,

There are plenty of great reads here. I will certainly pass this bookmark onto my mates.

    Cheers

  2. Bill, I read your commentary about universal healthcare and realized you and I are on the extreme opposite ends of the political spectrum. Given that I’m of the opinion that the US is the only industrialized country without universal healthcare, I think we are sacrificing our competitiveness and hurting a lot of people because we don’t have it here.

We had a $237,000 medical bill rejected by an insurance company that we’d paid more than that to in premiums. We were among the minority of people in similar circumstances who were able to avoid bankruptcy.

I am vehemently anti-war because I saw the cultural ignorance and hubris in regard to how the CIA, State Department and our military implement our foreign policies— that are the same pro-US corporate-benefitting policies as always, targeting countries with petroleum and other resources for intervention, overthrow, occupation or destabilization.

We may agree on beer and some other issues, but I’m afraid our overall political orientations are pretty much polar opposites.

I’m personally sad that Christian Nationalism and its undemocratic proclivities are gaining so much momentum in America. Now that the Supreme Court has begun dismantling the wall between church and state., I fear America is repeating the slide toward fascism that took place in 1930s Germany. The religious right helped usher in fascism then, and it’s doing the same today in America.
    Cordially,

    1. My dear friend Carl,

Perhaps you would change your mind if living in the Ukraine …or, some other war torn hellish part of the world.

Even, in paradise …no good deed seems to go unpunished with or without an opinion being ascribed indiscriminately.

Woe is me. And woe is you. It’s rough all over.

Should I throw up my arms and adopt covetousness as a means to placate my injuries? Mercy me …!

At some point in time, We all must learn to live and deal with injustice and violence …whether they be our own opinions of others justly ascribed or not.

As for being my brother’s keeper …to a greater degree, I am saddened to learn of any whose fate is unjustly thrust upon them and their loved ones.

Life’s strifes, mental, financial stresses affect each in different ways …spiritually notwithstanding.

As such, I will stand by, with, and beside you all the best Way I know …as a Brother.

      Don’t be a stranger.

      Love, Bill
