Energy Policy’s Missing Word; “…Multidimensional…”

The Word; “…Multidimensional…”

Lynn, kudos to you in regard to your recent interview with Gerri Willis on Fox News. You looked great and came off very well.

However, let me ask you to consider using a strong, positive power word. Incorporate “…multidimensional …” into your energy conversation’s dialogue in the future.

You will make a stronger impact if you use “…multidimensional …” to characterize the nature and scope of the problem of the current policy which is lacking in both vision and scope …by virtue of the fact that the current policy is not “…multidimensional …” and therefore lacks the breadth needed to combat the problem.

In order to achieve energy independence, freedom has always equated to choice.

Variety is the spice of life.

Choice boosts competition and lowers price …rewarding efficiencies regardless of scale by reason of flexibility …which enhances national security …while reducing trade imbalances and strengthening the posture of any state’s ability to conduct foreign relations …on a sovereign less-conflicted diplomatic basis.

Recently, I received a letter from a man by the name of John Tate. The petition request’s letter identified Mr. Tate as The President of Campaign\ for Liberty. The rather large letter came in a manila envelope along with a solicitation requesting money for my support of a bill which the letter indicates is before both the House and the Senate.

This bill is being sponsored in the House by U.S. Congressman Ron Paul of the 14th Congressional District of Texas and in the Senate by Congressman Ron Paul’s son, the freshman Senator from Kentucky, Rand Paul …an Ophthalmologist from Boling Green.

A Sagaciously Simple Essay by Charley Reese; 545 vs. 300,000,000 People

Regarding 545 vs. 300,000,000 People

Charley Reese’s final column for the Orlando Sentinel

Consider the following as an opportunity to read a truly inspirational essay from a well-seasoned writer.

After reading an essay titled: 545 vs. 300,000,000 People …I became instantly inspired such that I simply must pass this man’s work on …as so many others before me have as well.

I received this essay from a friend via an E-mail which came to me this week.

It so impressed me by its sagacious simplicity that I just had to look at it in more depth.

Afterwards, I expanded my meditation and contemplation of it …conducting a Google search in which I used its title as my search parameter: “545 vs. 300,000,000 People”

I took the liberty to post my search returns below. Please take a look at these sites. If you do, I believe that you will find …as I did; that there is …not only a wide spread acceptance and agreement of this author’s essay’s simple …yet powerful theme; there is also a spirit whose powerful appeal also speaks to reach deep into the character of the American human persona.

In this regard, I believe the essay’s strong appeal emanates from an unmistakable call to collectively take strong individual responsible action for what was intended …in purpose, to serve all Americans in making this a land a land of free opportunity in which one is free to pursue his or her happiness.

Yet, for all this, there is a certain thread of a theme throughout the essay …one of blame which …like the three fingers which point back to self …on a hand which points away from self.

And in this regard the one to blame is not the system; it is the apathetic individual.

What is the bottom line?

Americans must take more personal responsible action and become more engaged …rather than become more blame gamers in a sea awash with apathy.

Demand Destruction Vs. Washington’s Lip Service

Choice seems to favor liberty. I know, I have visited and lived in communistic and former communist sattelite countries.
However, America has not and is not truly taking advantage of its diverse energy resources.
Likewise, in spite of the fact that America has long known that it has an energy problem; America has failed to become busy in a meaningful manner which agreesively promotes a build-out of a wider energy infrustructure.
Evidently, America’s policy makers do not share industries desire to actually ernestly desire to achieve energy independence.
In view of this failure to redeem the time; Washington seems to me …more willing to invite any policy detrimental or otherwise …which is cabalbe of weaking the dollar and thus fan the flames of inflation …still further than whatever means the Federal Reserve Chairman, Ben Bernanke has at his disposal …in his near empty arsenal.
Such poor policy choices as it is make for a lack of choice though. And, in my humble opinion …threatens Homeland Security in a way which most people are being taken unawares.
As such, America’s (comprehensive???) energy policy (…or, lack thereof …) reflect a sad lack of consideraton for Lady Liberty which is consistent with Washington’s lack of esteem for what should, otherwise be delivering …service by Her duely elected public servants.
Sadly, in the absence of an adequate abundance …let alone …a bare minimum of any due measure of what responsible considerations should otherwise be offering America Her the badly needed due diligent of responsible service; Wahsinton’s lack of esteem in its lax regard …is failing to promote a healthy energy independence …and have pretty much dropped the ball. “Yes (…Barack …) you have …!”

If you are not with us …you are against us? Where did I last hear this?

I believe this is what came from President Bush as he led the charge to stand against Iraqi dictator Sadman Hussein in the wake of the Iraqi dictator’s post Quwati invasion’s peace.

Hmm! Noble cause as the president’s charge may have been; as it were, I wonder why the president’s efforts met with so much international indifference and contempt.

For a possible answer, take a look back with me a bit.

In view of the recent celebration of The Bay of Pigs 50th Anniversary last week, I think it altogether fitting to also take a look back at a letter which I wrote around the first part of 2007 …especially since it is also the case that Barack Obama made the decision to essentially dump the Libyan mess into NATO’s lap.

Consider the following as a prefacing introduction prior to any such a look back ward …

Hey Barack! Hey NATO!

I would hope America is ready and willing to take the responsibilities needed to shoulder the burdens of the tasks in Northern Africa. If something is worth doing, it should be worth doing well, yes?

Yet, for all that …the leadership which caused Barack Obama to mount the charge into Libya is one which is also fast wilting and withering on the vine.

This does one thing well. It makes a fine example of an excuse for failing to show the conviction of such a charge’s initial courage and conviction.

The TAX/SPEND or Cut Conundrum?

The Chicken or the Egg Conundrum

As Washington plays CHICKEN WITH AMERICA’S ECONOMY …there’s something missing in the national conversations these days …something more than common sense. Sad to say; that’s a given.

Sadly, that’s also a given which has been politically fostered, channeled and has also been allowed to grow and fester to become a spirit whose source of angst and arguer has created so much frustration and uncertainty …more so than jobs and that which has translated to housing sales.

So, I’d like to add something here which adds more to and along the lines of a question …one which is become hung-up …merely contemplating; “…Which came first, the chicken or the egg?”.

In this regard, I would venture to say that the truth is that Washington is pretty much preoccupied with a truth which …by itself, has revolved around the President’s pre-electioneering speech this last Wednesday …as much …if not more so …the influential conversations in Washington which have been so centered around taxes, revenue, the deficit, and spending and spending cuts.

The adage applies; those who are so wrapped up with themselves make for a small package.

Go figure! It is a multidimensional complex world; isn’t it?

Irrespective of just how much of a part of the needed conversation as these still-unresolved issues are; in the midst of these issues’ conversations’ arguments …there are core-central priorities whose issues are more complex than those like the irreconcilable chicken/egg conundrum.

All anyone with half a brain knows that this conundrum has yet to be resolved.

That’s what it was …what it is …and what it will be.

What I am saying is; it should be abundantly clear that jobs, employment and housing are America’s core golden geese which lay the golden eggs that develop tax revenue as well as GDP.

So, why is Washington so preoccupied in making meager forays into these do-nothing conundrums …Photo Opps and pre-electioneering not withstanding.

Heavy lifting is where it’s at baby; as much as is …arguing over how many angels can dance upon the head of a needle.

Action Jackson. Leave the rhetoric for the nuns …and the nannies.

Thread the eye of a needle …and you can enter into a simpler …more productive opportunity …immediately …as in right now!

Until then …the truth of the Pre-election mantra of “Yes we can.” …will remain; “No, you can’t …haven’t …and won’t …until you demonstrate than you do.”

All else is meaningless lip-service.

of …

Inflation’s Oncoming Reality …Debt Load Costs Not Withstanding

Like the Revolutionary Tea Party of old; there was a certain fight which preceded the peace which resulted from the effort. No pain …no gain.

My father used to say; “…If it is worth keeping; it is worth fighting for …”

Isn’t time to hold our elected servants to this rule …the one which should apply to how much America values fighting for accountability and fiscal responsibility?

Now that America has had almost three years to consider these values; isn’t it just about time we stand up for stronger measures which safeguard such values …those which are worthy of a truly great fight’s effort.

Then, let’s go the distance …even if it takes us the effort to last till the last round, OK?

TKO’d in the 2012th round! How about it America!?

Are you ready for it?

What Goes Around …Shuts It Down

Are not tax receipts scarce enough? Are the costs associated with America’s Public Debt set to rise? Are inflationary pressures subsiding? Will Washington’s willingness to lower taxes gain wisdom and understanding in consideration of the private sector’s power to do the heavy lifting? Will energy costs fall? Will wages rise? Will expendable income go up? Will discretionary spending rise? Is housing making a turn for the better?

How is it that Washington can’t get it?

Are they losing it; or …have they already lost it?

One thing is for sure, the citizenry’s patience is running on empty in the wake of the last few years of shame and blames’ finger pointing.

America can no longer afford to waste time in grasping at straws.

Now …since last November’s mid-terms …even the blame de-jour …The

tea Party is being spun as the lastest in a long line of what is being portrayed as the politically incorrect problem.

Oh Brother, please!

And if today if is not urgent enough; why give and allow politicians the luxury of another opportunity in still …the greater self-service of merly mismanaging one more crisis-management moment?

Now is not the time to allow Congress to kick this growing crisis-in-the-making further down the road.

Today is the crisis when the patient fails to realize the size and scope and the potential of the illness whose grips deciets are stronger than the will of the patient.

America is beset with political pride, and is blind to its ill-borne affects.

Now is not the time to engage in more blame and shame.

Now is not the time to put off until tomorrow what should be done today.

To do so …is to become the problem’s better …most principal part …the cancer which will not go away, but grows faster than the exasperation of the crisis itself …especially in the wake of blame and shame’s pride; the lord of plausible denial …behind which is hinding …no vialbe workable alternative solution.

Today is time to turn on a dime and sieze the day.

And on this dime, isn’t it time to grow our way out of this organically …rather than with smoke and mirrors?

I say that it is time to call a senator or two.

God Forbid; Take a Lesson from a Review of the AIG of Yesterday and Today?

God Forbid; the Lesson from a Review of the AIG of Yesterday and Today?

Prefacing Comment to the Letter Below:

Taking a look back, two years ago …I sent out a short letter which commented on compensation in the wake of an AIG compensation party held at a resort hotel. This party went down shortly after TARP was passed by Congress …and all hell broke out in the wake of such an untimely opportunity to celabrate AIG recipients for their successes.

On March 18th, 2009, in response to this by measure of no lack of egregous, media-driven, political grandstanding, I sent out an e-mail which is a form of the letter that I have pasted herein below.

Two years later, I think these subjects are worth revisiting to remember the topics which surrounded every media story at the time.

And for one reason or another these issues preoccupied and permiated the American mindset …if, but for only a matter of weeks or so.

So, now …with th passage of two years’ time; I have to wonder how much honest esteem for such calls’ greater discretion remains?

And so, now again; I have to wonder what of any significance …has changed in the last two short years which have passed to cover over this subject’s matters and concerns?

Are the seeds of such concerns still growing? Have such produced any fruit multiplied 30, 60 or a hundred fold? Or is this a mute case of an old story gone passe in the wake of the Gulf …and now Japan? (They shoot horses; don’t they? How about Boy Scouts?)

Or did the seeds of blame and shame fall upon more than fertile ground …upon more futile stages or self-serving interests …merely failing to produce the needed wisdom in any significant abundance which would …could …and shouold serve the greater interests of all?

What work is to gain profit so few by taking a lazy and mindless course? Wouldn’t it follow that these more imediate pursuits will easily and soon forgotten?

Then, why not remember these shortcommings and …compare their woes’ measures’ lessons taken from a measure of a greater appreciation for a work whose wisdom and ethics’ mindful pursuits produce meaningful fruit?

So, then …in that which is intentioned to grow from long-lasting, applicable understandings within efforts …less lazy; why not embrace a look back in a meaningful comparison …if not merely to remember what preocupied our minds …if but for such a short time?

Therefore, in such a comparitively relative short period of time, I have to ask what has Congress to show for the passage of its time …in service to raise due diligence to a level …which is worthy of serving to provide greater oversight and higher …more nobler …more honorable levels of responsibility …and adherance to corporate governance in performance systems which demonstrates consideration for the priority of far more nobler assurances …those which strive to achieve to promote quality leadership by reason of adherance to high standards, transparency and the clarity of honest, open-door accountability?

In other words, other than our collective votes; what other enhanced ways and means of oversight has America acrued that serves to speak of improved achievable measures of oversight, safeguards …in openly improved levels of transparency?
